Captain's Notes

Step aboard and you immediately feel what this Brewer was really built for: long, unhurried passages with a crew that likes its comfort. The center cockpit is deep and secure, with high coamings that make night watches feel snug instead of exposed. Down below, the layout gives real separation between cabins, so liveaboards can work, sleep, and relax without being on top of each other. The galley is arranged for cooking underway, with bracing points and smart storage that keeps gear quiet in a seaway. The hull form and ketch rig are all about balance and easy motion, more “small ship” than weekend toy, and the generous tankage and storage let you load up for months, not days.

Why Three Seas in California

For this cruising ground, the Brewer Three Seas hits a sweet spot: heavy enough to smooth out lumpy afternoon chop, yet not so big that slips and haul-outs become a headache. The ketch rig is ideal when the breeze pipes up; you can shorten sail in manageable chunks and still keep the boat driving. The center cockpit and high bulwarks inspire confidence when coastal forecasts turn fickle. Below, the excellent ventilation, serious tankage, and genuine headroom make hot spells, cool nights, and shoulder‑season cruising far more pleasant. Whether you’re harbor‑hopping or planning longer offshore legs, this design is set up to be a comfortable, self‑reliant home afloat.
